In three separate historic events, PnP Gen. Edgar B. Aglipay (Ret), Chairman of the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA), forged a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Angeles City Mayor Francis Blue Boy Nepomuceno; Subic Olongapo Mayor James J. Gordon; and Cebu City Mayor Tomas M. Osmeña.
Under the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the city governments of Angeles, Subic and Cebu will assist in the promotion of PRA's retirement packages thru the Associate Member Program. The campaign is directed towards encouraging former Filipino citizens and foreign nationals, in good standing, to actively market PRA's Special Resident Retiree Visa (SRRV) and other retirement-related business activities. Associate Members are authorized, upon fulfillment of specific qualification standards to market the program. They will be issued a Gold Card to distinguish them from the regular members and Certification of Participation, to endorse the SRRV to friends, relatives and business associates. To help disseminate information, PRA provides marketing collaterals to Associate Members at no cost.
Mayors Nepomuceno, Gordon and Osmeña are advocates of the program. To ensure its effective implementation, the mayors unanimously provided PRA with an office in their local tourism council premises. Chairman Aglipay extended his gratitude to Mayor Nepomuceno, Mayor Gordon and Mayor Osmena and their people for their support. Aglipay said "Our partnership will further propel the growth and development of the Philippine retirement industry." With the signing of the MOA, PRA has assigned one (1) staff each in Angeles and Subic to address the immediate concerns of the city government as well as potential applicants.
