Key officials of the Department of Tourism and the Philippine Retirement Authority led the opening rites of the PRA 25rh year anniversary on June 23 at the Hotel Sofitel.
The event, which was attended by over 500 retiree-members and guests, marked the culminating activity set by the PRA for its valued clients, industry partners and government colleagues.
In his welcome remarks, Reynaldo De Leon Lingat, PRA acting general manager, emphasized that the occasion is the beginning of a more concrete roadplan that would lead the industry to greater heights. “The silver lining that shrouds our achievements for the past 25 years inspires us to reach for the gold, search for the best and reach higher standards of excellence,” he said. He also extended his sincere gratitude for industry stakeholders and partners for its dedication and commitment in further enhancing the country’s image as a premiere retirement destination.
Meanwhile, Department of Tourism Undersecretary Oscar Palabyab said in his keynote speech that the country has so much to offer to both tourists and retirees. “Our country abounds in beautiful natural wonders, and we boast of the Filipinos’ innate hospitality,” he said. “I ask each and every retiree here to invite your countrymen to come visit the Philippines,” he also said.
