SRRVisa Options

SRRV Classic

For active / healthy principal retirees who would opt to use their Visa deposit to purchase condominium units or use for long term lease of house and lot; The visa deposit under this scheme are as follows:

  • US$ 20,000.00 - applicants aged 50 years old and above without pension
  • US$ 10,000.00 - applicants aged 50 years old and above and currently receiving pension:
  • US$800.00/month for single applicants
  • US$1,000.00/month for applicants with dependents

SRRV Courtesy

For former Filipinos (50 years old & above), and foreign nationals (50 years old & above) who have served in the Philippines as ambassadors and diplomats. The visa deposit is US$1,500.00

In 2013, the SRRV Courtesy program was expanded to include other groups of individuals such as honorary consuls, retirees of international organizations and former military officers.

Applicants under SRRV Expanded Courtesy must be at least 50 years old, receiving a monthly pension of at least US$1,000 and must remit a visa deposit of US$1,500.00.

Qualifications

Here are the basic documentary documents and fees that must be submitted and paid to PRA by a joining principal applicant:

  1. Accomplished SRRV Application Form -Ensure that all information requested are answered.
  2. Original Medical Certificate - may be secured from any licensed physician/clinic/ hospital in the Philippines. PRA has accredited clinics which can assist in doing the medical examination. A Medical certificate is only valid for 6 months from the date it was secured. All applicants, including dependents, need to secure a medical clearance.
  3. Note: Beginning 04 February 2020, medical fees are no longer included in the PRA Application Fee. This means that all fees incurred to secure the medical clearance will be shouldered by the applicant.
  1. Police Clearance - an Applicant needs to secure this clearance from the country of origin or last residence abroad. Said document must be translated to English, if issued in another language, and authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/Consular Office nearest the place where the Clearance was secured from or Apostilled by the issuing country's competent authority, whichever is applicable; The police clearance is valid for only 6 months from the date of issuance. For more information on the Hague Convention and the competent authority in your country,
  2. Note: Please ensure that your documents bear an Apostille or authenticated by the nearest Philippine Embassy before arriving in the Philippines. In most cases, your Embassy/Consular Office in the Philippines cannot issue the Apostille.
  3. PRA Circular No. 23, s. 2014 exempts the following individuals from the Police Clearance requirement: Those who have continuously stayed in the Philippines for a minimum period of five (5) years. You may just present an original Barangay Certificate with Length of Stay instead of a Police Clearance; 70 years old and above; and Retired officers and staff (including spouse and dependents) of ADB and other DFA-recognized international organizations
  1. NBI Clearance - the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance (Philippine Document) is needed when an applicant has stayed in the Philippines for more than 30 days prior to his application for the SRRVisa. This is required for the principal applicant and dependent applicants who are 18 years old and above
  2. Bank Certification - A visa deposit must be sent from any bank abroad to any of PRA's designated banks such as the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP). The Bank will send PRA a notarized Bank Certification 7-10 working days after the remittance has been received by the Bank. Please put in the remittance instruction "SRRV deposit of (complete name of principal SRRV applicant as it is indicated in the passport, passport number and date of birth)
  3. Note: Other PRA-accredited banks are Philippine National Bank (PNB), Banco de Oro (Pacific and Cebu IT Park Branches only), KEB Hana Bank, Unionbank, Bank of Commerce, Malayan Bank, and Shinhan Bank. If you wish to remit your visa deposit to these banks, you need to present a Letter of Introduction (LOI). To request for LOI, please send us a copy of your passport biopage, along with the following information:
  • Visa Sticker
  • Bank Name
  • Branch Name and Address
  • SRRV Option and amount to be remitted
  1. Usually, private banks can forward the bank certificate in 3-5 banking days from the date of remittance.
  2. Please be reminded that transfer of funds within the Philippines is not allowed unless the applicant can submit a certificate of inward remittance from his local bank. Bringing in of cash for deposit to the DBP, is also not allowed by PRA and DBP. Please remember to bring with you a copy of the bank remittance/transaction slip as additional supporting document to the bank certificate.
  3. The amount of the Visa deposit depends on the SRRV Option that the applicant has chosen. A principal applicant may include in his application his spouse and children who are below 21 years old and unmarried, as his dependents. In cases that the Principal applicant will include more than two (2) dependents, an additional visa deposit of US$15,000.00 for each additional dependent must be remitted under the name of the Principal applicant;
  1. Original Passport with valid Tourist/Balikbayan Visa in the Philippines - Tourist visa must be valid for at least 1 month while processing the SRRV. In cases where the tourist visa expires while the SRRV is being processed, the applicant must have it extended.
  2. Note: Applicants with other visa status must apply for downgrading at the Bureau of Immigration (BI). The following additional requirements must also be submitted to PRA by applicants who were previously issued another Philippine visa:
  • Order of Issuance (previous visa)
  • Order of Downgrading (previous visa)
  • Notarized Affidavit of Explanation (re: shifting to SRRV)
  • Notarized Waiver of Liability (template from PRA)
  • Other supporting documents (ex. Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 2 years or PSA Marriage Certificate)
  1. Applicants who entered the Philippines with the following visa status/observation may not apply for SRRV until a new tourist visa has been secured from the Philippine Embassy or upon entry at Philippine ports (please check current immigration rules):
  • Use of APEC Business Travel Card;
  • Valid/current American, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore or United Kingdom (AJACKSSUK) visa (for Chinese and Indian applicants) Tourist Visa upon Arrival (for Chinese applicants)
  • 9A Visa with "No Conversion" restriction
  1. Photos - 8 pieces of recent, high-quality, 2x2-inch pictures are required for SRRV Application. Wear decent clothing as this photo will also be used for your SRRV ID Card; Application Fee of US$1,400.00 - this application fee or processing/service fee is a one-time payment only and this encompasses all other fees for the Bureau of Immigration and PRA in relation to the application for the SRRVisa. This will be paid in cash (in USD or Php) at the PRA office.
  2. Note: In case that an applicant discontinues his/her application, the Application Fee may be reimbursed but the amount of US$200.00 will be deducted as service fee. However, if the applicant discontinues his application while the documents are already with the Bureau of Immigration, application fee is non-refundable.
  3. In cases wherein the processing must be discontinued (needs to return to his country or for any other emergency reasons), the documents including the passport may be pulled out from the Bureau of Immigration. The applicant may proceed with his application later on but needs to pay an additional revalidation fee of Php5,520.00 (Bureau of Immigration required fee)
  1. PRA Annual Fee (PAF) of US$360.00 - this fee is payable upon joining the program and every year thereafter as long as the retiree is a holder of the SRR Visa. This is also paid in cash (in USD or Php) at the PRA office. A principal Applicant must pay US$100 for each additional dependent in excess of two (2);
  2. Note: Annual Fee for Courtesy or Expanded Courtesy is only $10 for each member and the initial annual fee is waived.
  1. Additional Documents for Different SRRV Options:
  2. SRRV Classic with Pension (for 50 years old and above).
  3. Authenticated/Apostilled Proof of Lifetime Pension - at least US$800.00/month for single applicants and US$1,000.00/month for applicants with dependents. Said document must be translated to English, if issued in another language, and authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/Consular Office nearest the place where the Clearance was secured from or Apostilled by the issuing country’s competent authority, whichever is applicable SRRV Courtesy (Former Filipino)
  4. Old Philippine Passport or Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority
  5. SRRV Courtesy (Retired Diplomats—specific high-level positions only—who served in the Philippines)
  6. Certificate of Employment indicating position held and duration of employment
  7. SRRV Expanded Courtesy (at least 50 years old)
  8. Authenticated/Apostilled Proof of Qualification under SRRV Expanded Courtesy (ex. Proof of Military Service, Certificate of Employment from International Organizations recognized by DFA or other documents to be determined by PRA). Must be translated to English, if issued in another language, and authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/Consular Office nearest the place where the Clearance was secured from or Apostilled by the issuing country’s competent authority, whichever is applicable;
  9. Authenticated/Apostilled Proof of Lifetime Pension - must be currently receiving a lifetime pension of at least US$1,000.00/month. Said document must be translated to English, if issued in another language, and authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/Consular Office nearest the place where the Clearance was secured from or Apostilled by the issuing country’s competent authority, whichever is applicable.

For joining spouse and children, as dependents they need to submit and pay the following:

  • Accomplished SRRV Application Form
  • Application Form for Dependents
  • Original PRA Medical Certificate
  • Original Police Clearance (and NBI Clearance, if necessary) for Spouse, and for children who are 18 years old and above;
  • Apostilled/Authenticated Proof of Relationship (ex. Marriage Certificate for the spouse and Birth Certificate for the child);
  • Original Passport with valid tourist visa in the Philippines; Photos
  • Application Fee of US$300.00 for each joining dependent.
  • Applicant must submit the above original documents and 2 sets of photocopied documents in A4 size.
  • Additional requirements may be requested depending on the SRRV Option being applied for.
  • Once applicant has submitted all documents and paid all fees in the Office, PRA will process the application papers and bring all documents to the Bureau of Immigration. PRA may only process and submit to the Bureau of Immigration the SRRV application if the applicant is here in the Philippines. The processing of the application usually takes at least 1 month.
  • After the SRRVisa has been stamped/placed in the passport, PRA will request the presence of the retiree-applicant in the PRA Office to take his Oath of Affirmation as a retiree member.
  • Before planning or proceeding with your trip to the Philippines, you are kindly advised to check for updates from relevant Philippine Government agencies on entry restrictions and COVID-19 safety protocols being implemented.
